Job Summary
As a Clinical Program Manager, you will be in charge of making sure health programs in San Diego County are working well. You will help plan, lead, and improve these programs so that they help the most people. You will work with doctors, nurses, social workers, and other professionals to make sure everything is running smoothly.
Your main job will be to make sure that the programs meet people’s needs and are following the rules. You will also supervise a team, help manage budgets, and make sure the programs are helping people like they should.
Responsibilities
As a Clinical Program Manager, you will have many important tasks. Here are some of the things you will do:
- Managing Health Programs: You will help create and run health programs that help people in the community. You will make sure these programs are working well and helping as many people as possible.
- Leading a Team: You will be in charge of a team of workers. You will help train them, give them guidance, and make sure they are doing their best work.
- Working with Other Groups: You will work with doctors, hospitals, community centers, and government groups to make sure the health programs are successful and working together.
- Tracking How Well Programs Are Working: You will check to see if the programs are helping people. You will look at the results and figure out ways to make the programs better.
- Budgeting and Managing Money: You will help manage the money for the programs. This means making sure the programs don’t spend too much and that the money is used in the best way.
- Following Rules: You will make sure that the programs follow the rules and laws. This includes making sure the programs are safe, fair, and meet all legal requirements.
- Talking to the Community: You will talk to the people in the community to get feedback. You will listen to what they need and try to make sure the programs are helping them in the best way possible.
Qualifications
To be a good Clinical Program Manager, you will need certain skills and experience. Here’s what we are looking for:
Required Skills:
- Leadership: You should be able to lead a team, give advice, and help others do their best work.
- Program Management: You should know how to organize and run programs that help people.
- Good Communication: You will need to talk to many people, so it’s important that you can explain things clearly, both in speaking and writing.
- Problem Solving: Sometimes things don’t go as planned. You need to be good at finding solutions and fixing problems.

- Data Skills: It’s helpful if you know how to look at data and use it to improve programs.
- Experience with Grants: If you know how to get funding for programs (like writing grant applications), that’s a plus.
Education and Experience
Here’s what we need in terms of education and experience:
- Education: You will need a Bachelor’s degree in a field like Healthcare, Social Work, Nursing, or Public Health. A Master’s degree is a plus but not required.
- Experience: We want you to have at least 3 years of experience managing programs. It’s also helpful if you’ve worked with health services or in a community organization before.
Location
The job is based in San Diego County, California. You may need to travel around the area for work, but most of your time will be spent in the office. San Diego is a beautiful place with good weather all year long, so it’s a nice place to work and live.
Salary and Benefits
