As a Mid-Level Provider, you’ll play a key part in providing essential medical support and health education.
Job Summary
As a Mid-Level Provider, you’ll see patients for common medical concerns, manage ongoing health issues, and guide them in maintaining their well-being. This includes performing exams, reviewing test results, creating treatment plans, and educating patients on how to stay healthy. You’ll work closely with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Assessment
- Conduct physical exams and take patient histories
- Review test results, such as lab work or imaging
- Diagnose common illnesses and medical conditions
Treatment and Care Planning
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on each patient’s needs
- Prescribe medications when necessary
- Explain care instructions in simple terms patients can understand
Patient Education
- Teach patients how to manage chronic conditions like diabetes or high blood pressure
- Share lifestyle tips to promote long-term health
- Answer patient questions and provide supportive, respectful care
Team Collaboration
- Work with physicians, nurses, and support staff to provide high-quality care
- Attend clinic meetings and contribute to improving clinic operations
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with all team members
Accurate Documentation
- Maintain detailed and confidential electronic medical records (EMRs)
- Ensure compliance with health information privacy laws
- Track patient progress and care updates in real time

Qualifications
Required
- Current Texas license as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
- National certification (e.g., AANP or NCCPA)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience, preferably in a community health setting
- Strong communication skills and patient-centered mindset
- Experience using electronic medical records (EMRs)
Preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish and English
- Experience working in public health or community clinics
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care and culturally responsive practices
