Responsibilities
As the Outreach Program Supervisor, your main tasks will include:
Leading a Team
You will be in charge of a team of outreach workers who talk to people in the community and help them understand how to get the services they need. You will guide your team, give them advice, and make sure they are doing a great job.
Organizing Programs
You will help plan and organize outreach programs that teach people about different health and social services. This might include setting up events, creating flyers, or meeting with community leaders to spread the word.
Working with the Community
You will meet with different groups and organizations to build good relationships. This will help get more people involved in the programs and make sure they know about the services available to them.
Training and Supporting Your Team
You will train your outreach team and make sure they have all the tools and information they need to do their jobs well. You will also give them support when they face challenges.
Collecting Data and Reporting

Ensuring Rules are Followed

Qualifications
Required Skills

- Problem-Solving: Sometimes things don’t go as planned, so you should be able to find ways to fix problems quickly and find new ways to help people.
- Cultural Understanding: San Diego County has many different types of people. It’s important to understand and respect all cultures and backgrounds.
- Public Speaking: You may need to talk to groups of people, so being comfortable with public speaking is helpful.
Preferred Skills
While not required, it would be great if you also had:
- Experience in Outreach or Social Services: If you’ve worked in a job that helped people or worked with the community before, it’s a big plus.
- Knowledge of Local Services: If you know about the health or social services available in San Diego, that will be very helpful.
- Speaking Another Language: Being able to speak more than one language, like Spanish, would be a great advantage because it helps reach more people.

Education and Experience
Education
- You need to have a Bachelor’s degree in something like Social Work, Public Health, Communications, or a similar field. This means you’ve gone to college and studied something related to helping others.

Experience
- You should have at least 3 years of experience working in jobs where you help people or work with communities. This could be jobs in social services, public health, or similar areas.
- You should also have at least 1 year of experience in a leadership role, where you supervised or managed other people.
Location
This job is based in San Diego County, CA. You will need to travel to different parts of the county to meet with community groups, leaders, and other organizations. This helps you connect with people and make sure they have access to the services they need.
Salary and Benefits
