About the Role
As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you’ll work closely with individuals who need support in daily activities like dressing, eating, or working. What You’ll Do
Help Patients Improve Daily Function
- Assess patients’ ability to perform daily tasks
- Develop customized occupational therapy plans
- Use therapeutic activities to improve strength, coordination, and mental wellness
- Monitor progress and adjust treatment when needed
- Educate patients and families on at-home exercises and care
Provide Team Leadership
- Mentor and supervise junior occupational therapists
- Offer support with difficult cases and clinical decisions
- Work collaboratively with healthcare teams to deliver quality care
Handle Administrative Tasks
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Ensure compliance with agency and state healthcare guidelines
- Contribute ideas to improve patient outcomes and therapy processes

Required Skills and Qualifications
Required
- Master’s or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy
- Valid California Occupational Therapist License
- At least 5 years of clinical experience
- Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role
- Strong communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills
Preferred
- Experience treating patients with stroke, brain injury, or other complex conditions
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR)
- Bilingual, especially in Spanish or other languages common in San Diego
- Continuing education certifications in specialty therapy areas
